PLACES TO VISIT

If you would like to visit places independently during your stay there is plenty of choice.

The following places are all easily reached by train (with approximate journey times from Worcester in brackets):

London : Our exciting capital city (2 hours)
Birmingham : England’s chic and vibrant 2nd city (40 minutes)
Malvern : Picturesque spa town nestling in the Malvern Hills (15 minutes)
Hereford : Historic cathedral city & home of the oldest map in the world, the Mappa Mundi (45 minutes)
Oxford : Historic university city (90 minutes)
Bristol : Historic port city at the mouth of the River Severn (I hour)
Cardiff : Attractive capital of Wales (2 hours)

These places are easy to get to by car:

Warwick Castle : The most beautiful medieval castle in England
The Cotswolds : Pretty, typically English villages.
Stratford-on-Avon : Birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Bath : Attractive city with Roman and Georgian architecture.
Ironbridge: Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

If you would like to rent a car for the weekend Kingsway has an arrangement with the local branch of Hertz. You will need:
1) An international driving licence
2) A credit card
