General English Group (GEG)

The General English Group (GEG) includes full-time group lessons for 26 hours per week in the classroom, and a 3 hour Friday Restaurant session with the other students and some of your teachers.

A typical week’s timetable is shown below. Although the emphasis in every lesson is on speaking & writing, the mornings are structured to ensure that all language skills are covered. On a Monday afternoon the teacher negotiates the lesson content for the afternoon classes. This gives everyone the opportunity to say what they would most like to do but, ultimately, the teacher has to decide what is best for the group as a whole.

There is an optional self study period at the end of the day – a great opportunity to review your day’s lessons, do your homework or use some of Kingsway’s user-friendly learning materials. But you may sometimes prefer to unwind with an early beer at a local pub!
