Advanced English Levels
If you are booking a group course at Kingsway English Centre and your level is advanced (by "advanced" we mean CEFR C1+, TOEIC 900+, CPE, etc..) then we will usually have a suitable group for you. However, we group our students according to their speaking and listening abilities so it sometimes happens that someone has passed an “advanced” level exam but their speaking skills are at a lower level. Conversely someone may have an intermediate level of grammar or reading/writing skills but speak quite fluently.
As we are a school with continuous enrolment (which means that new students join every Monday), the participants on each course vary from week to week and classes are allocated depending on the students present. Some weeks an advanced level group may include people who have a good intermediate level. But the important thing to be aware of is that our teachers are experienced at ensuring that everyone benefits from the class. For example a lower level student may be learning new vocabulary whilst a higher level student may already know the vocabulary but is finding collocations for this language and both will have practice in actively using the language in speaking exercises.
During our busier periods, we have more students from which to form our groups so you are more likely to find people of a similar level in your group. One week you may find you are the strongest in the group and the next week you may not be! Unfortunately we can’t be sure far in advance exactly who will be in a group in any given week as many people book at the last minute. But as the groups are small and lessons are “tailor made” you will still find the content useful interesting and stimulating.
If you are unsure if a group course is suitable for you please contact us. We can assess your level of spoken English via a short, informal telephone conversation. We will then email you with our assessment of your level of spoken English and whether or not we think you have chosen a suitable course. And once you have booked with us you will be entitled to a free on-line welcome / introduction session before your course begins.
We are always happy to help our students (and potential students) personally, and we will always give you the best advice, even if that means saying "no" to you coming to Kingsway. We have spent many years building a fantastic reputation for quality, integrity and honesty and that means advising you what is best for you at all times.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards

Notes for Advanced Level Students
If your level of English is advanced please note the following points before you book a General English group or a Business English group course :By advanced level English we mean CEFR C1+ or TOEIC 900+ or CPE.
We place students according to speaking and listening levels. Other skills may be stronger or weaker from one student to another.
Because we have " continuous enrolment" we have new students starting every week so the groups change regularly.
During busy periods you are more likely to meet students of your level. During quieter periods there may be a slightly wider range of levels within groups.
One week you may be the strongest in your group. The next week you may not.
Kingsway teachers are skilled at making sure that everyone benefits in the group even if there are fine variations in level.
We are always happy to assess your English level by Skype or telephone FREE of charge, so you know what we recommend.
We will ALWAYS give you honest advice, even if that means saying 'no' to you coming to Kingsway.
If we think it more appropriate we will recommend a combination or full-time one-to-one course.
